A continuation of the current mobile Atlantic regime will keep weather conditions unsettled, with frequent rain, fresh winds, and below-average temperatures. Rainfall will remain well above average through to the second week of September.
Today – Monday
Bright or sunny spells with scattered showers, heaviest in the west and northwest where showers will merge to give longer spells of rain. Blustery at times. Drier spells further east.

Tuesday
A drier day than of late, with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.
- Temperatures: 15–19°C
- Winds: Gentle westerly
Wednesday
A relatively dry start away from the west. A band of rain will move into the southwest in the morning, spreading northeastwards with localised downpours and a risk of thunderstorms.
- Temperatures: 13–17°C
- Winds: Light to gentle southwesterly
Thursday
Unsettled conditions expected, with scattered showers in the morning. A band of more persistent rain will move into the west by late morning or early afternoon.
- Temperatures: 15–19°C, coolest in the northwest
- Winds: Moderate to fresh westerly
Friday
A mix of sunny spells, most frequent in the east and south, with scattered showers. The showers will be most persistent along the Atlantic seaboard.
- Temperatures: 14–18°C
- Winds: Moderate southwesterly
Weekend and Beyond
Unsettled weather will continue, with frequent rain and showers, and occasional moderate to fresh westerly winds. Rainfall will remain above average, though temperatures will recover to near-normal values. Toward the end of the second week of September, high pressure building from the south is likely to bring less unsettled conditions to the south and east.
