
Met Éireann issues trio of marine warnings

Met Éireann has issued three small craft warnings for Irish coastal waters, with winds forecast to reach force 6 or higher at times from Sunday through Monday night.
The first warning came into effect at midday, covering coasts from Slyne Head to Malin Head to Carlingford Lough. Southeast winds veering southwest are expected to reach gale force locally before easing by this evening.
A second warning is in place for Monday morning, from 6am to 3pm, covering coasts from Rossan Point to Bloody Foreland to Malin Head. South to southwest winds in this area are also forecast to reach force 6 or higher.
The third warning, valid from 7pm on Monday until midnight, affects coasts from Roche’s Point to Loop Head to Bloody Foreland. Southerly winds will strengthen during the evening before gradually easing into Tuesday.
The status yellow alerts were issued on Sunday.
