Met Éireann issues marine warnings for Irish coastal waters

Met Éireann has introduced Small Craft and Gale Warnings for Irish coastal waters over the coming 48 hours.
While gusts of 75–85 km/h are expected in exposed western coastal areas over the next 24 hours, these remain below the threshold for a land-based Status Yellow wind warning.
Offshore, however, conditions are expected to be rough, with strong winds and high seas along much of the Atlantic seaboard.
Northwest winds are expected to reach force 6 or higher, prompting a Small Craft Warning for all coasts of Ireland, valid until 5am on Sunday, October 26th.
A Status Yellow Gale Warning is also in effect from Roche’s Point to Loop Head to Rossan Point, where westerly winds are forecast to reach gale force 8 at times between 8pm on Thursday and 1pm on Friday.
