NASA Satellite Captures Early Autumn Sunshine

Most of Ireland enjoyed bright sunshine on Tuesday morning as NASA’s MODIS satellite passed over the island.
Cloud persisted over the far northeast and southeast, with Johnstown Castle in County Wexford reporting some cloud cover by midday.
Elsewhere, Met Éireann recorded fair conditions, with Munster and west Connacht among the warmest areas. Valentia reported 15 °C and Belmullet reached 16 °C at 1 pm.
High pressure to the northeast of Ireland is expected to keep conditions largely dry through Friday. Rain will spread across the country late on Friday night. While a full return to the unsettled weather seen earlier in September is unlikely, early autumn conditions will continue, bringing a mix of long dry spells and scattered showers from the weekend into next week.
