Rainfall-warning-1-1200x675 Status Yellow Rain Warning for Parts of the West and South

Up to an inch of rain could fall in parts of the west and southwest between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, and Galway as heavy rain moves is expected across the region later tomorrow.

The national forecasting service says drivers should expect difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, and the risk of localised flooding.

The warning is valid from 6 pm Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday.

The news will come as a blow to farmers and landowners in the region, where soils are already generally saturated or waterlogged.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow rain warning for counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo remains valid until 5 p.m. today.
