Storm Bram in numbers

Storm Bram was the second named storm of the 2025–26 season. It brought travel disruption and widespread power outages, though for some it felt little more than a typical dirty winter’s day. Coastal flooding was also reported in places.
Eight weather warnings were issued across Ireland. Rainfall reached 23 millimetres at Cork Airport. Seventy schools either stayed closed or shut early. More than 70 flights were cancelled at Dublin Airport. The strongest gust, 119 kilometres per hour, was recorded at Roches Point in Cork. Around 54,000 properties were left without electricity.
Despite the storm, temperatures were unusually mild. Many locations reached 16 degrees, including Phoenix Park in Dublin, where the previous record high for this date was 14.5 degrees set in 1994.
