2002: Northern Ireland experiences some of its worst October weather in years. Landslides disrupt roads and homeowners erect flood defences. Parts of Belfast receive 50 mm of rain in just 90 minutes, with flooding most severe in east and south Belfast, including the Ravenhill area.
2009: Cork Airport reports 62 mm of rainfall.
2018: A record high October mean sea level pressure is recorded at Sherkin Island, Co. Cork, at 1043.8 hPa.
