2008: Birr in County Offaly records a daily maximum of 25°C.

2012: The highest mean pressure reading in Ireland for May (1042.4 hPa) is recorded at Cork Airport.

2016: Ireland enjoys a warm spell, with temperatures reaching the low 20s in most locations.

2018: Both the month’s lowest air (-1.2°C) and grass minimum temperature (-5.1°C) are recorded at Mount Dillon, Roscommon.

2020: The month’s lowest temperature (-3.2°C) is recorded at Mount Dillon, Roscommon, and Mullingar, Westmeath.

2024: Thunderstorms develop in the east as temperatures reach the low 20s.
