Over 1 Million Spaniards to Discover Ireland’s Stunning Coastline

More than a million Spaniards are set to explore the island of Ireland, thanks to coverage by four Spanish journalists touring some of our most iconic coastal and historical sites.
Guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, and Tourism Northern Ireland, the journalists – representing newspapers, online news platforms, and a radio station – travelled the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coastal Route to highlight Ireland’s unique geography, heritage, and coastline.
Their itinerary spanned Spanish Point and the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Galway city, Streedagh Beach and the Spanish Armada Visitor Centre in County Sligo, as well as Glencar Waterfall and Rossclogher Castle. In Northern Ireland, they visited the walled city of Derry, the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Titanic Belfast, and the Ulster Museum. Along the way, they explored the history of the Spanish Armada shipwrecks that dot our shores.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Spain, said: “We were delighted to welcome these influential journalists to discover Ireland’s dramatic coastline and rich maritime history. Their articles and broadcasts will reach over a million potential Spanish holidaymakers, inspiring them to experience Ireland’s landscapes and heritage for themselves.”
Tourism Ireland regularly hosts international journalists to showcase Ireland’s diverse geography and heritage, a strategy designed to boost global awareness of the island as a destination.
