Rainfall warning in place for Monday evening

A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning has been issued for Galway, Mayo, and Kerry on Monday, evening, as a spell of wet and windy weather moves in from the Atlantic.
Met Éireann is warning of heavy downpours and strong, gusty southerly winds, with rainfall totals along the western seaboard expected to reach up to 20mm. Eastern regions, including East Munster and Leinster, will also see rain, but with lighter and more variable amounts between 5mm and 10mm.
Gusts could exceed 85 km/h in western coastal areas and may also affect parts of the south and southeast coast, contributing to hazardous conditions.
The rainfall warning is in effect from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Monday, with risks of localised flooding, reduced visibility, and difficult travel conditions.
alongside the rain warning, three Status Yellow marine warnings have also been issued:
- A Small Craft Warning applies to all Irish coastal waters from 9:00 AM Monday to 10:00 AM Tuesday, with south to southwest winds veering westerly and reaching force 6 or higher.
- A Gale Warning is in place for Mizen Head to Slyne Head to Malin Head from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday, where winds may reach gale force 8 or strong gale force 9.
- Another Gale Warning, covering Malin Head to Howth Head to Mizen Head and the Irish Sea, will be active from 9:00 PM Monday to midnight, with gale force 8 winds expected.
Largely settled conditions will return for Tuesday with just some light passing showers on a fresh westerly wind.
