Met Éireann issues two small craft warnings for weekend

Met Éireann has issued two separate small craft warnings for Saturday and Sunday as strong south to southeast winds are expected to affect coastal waters.
The first warning, in effect from 9am to 7pm on Saturday, applies to the stretch from Roche’s Point to Valentia and north to Erris Head. Winds in this area are forecast to reach force six or higher.
A second warning, covering all coasts of Ireland, comes into effect from 7pm on Saturday and will remain in place until 1pm on Sunday. Met Éireann has advised that south to southeast winds will again reach force six or higher during this period.
Both warnings are at yellow status, the lowest level on the national weather warning system, but they highlight potentially hazardous conditions for small vessels.
