1908: The temperature reaches at Phoenix Park, Dublin, marking an exceptionally warm day for late October.

1943: Storm-force south-westerly winds lash Ireland as a deep Atlantic low remains anchored northwest of the country.

1987: Local authorities and emergency services are placed on high alert ahead of anticipated heavy rainfall across Leinster and Ulster. Serious flooding occurs the following day.

2020: Strong winds and heavy rain impact Ireland, with a wind gust of 104.3 km/h reported at Sherkin Island in Cork.

2024: Storm Ashley, named by Met Éireann, produces a wind gust of 137 km/h at Mace Head, Co Galway. Gort (Derrybrien), also in Co Galway, records almost 32 mm of rainfall. Ashley is the first named storm of the 2024–25 season.
