1985
Following one of the wettest Julys on record, nearly an inch of rain fell across parts of the west and south.

1997
Severe flooding occurred in the village of Blackwater, Co. Wexford, after 36 hours of torrential rain combined with a high tide. The River Blackwater rose to its highest level in years, inundating two pubs, a supermarket, a restaurant, and several homes.

2003
A warm August Bank Holiday saw temperatures climb into the mid-20s, drawing large crowds to beaches across the country.

2019
Scattered thunderstorms brought heavy downpours, with over 20 mm of rain recorded at Shannon Airport, Claremorris, and Knock Airport.

2023
Storm Antoni was officially named by the KNMI, Met Éireann, and the UK Met Office. The storm brought its strongest winds and heaviest rain to Ulster.

2024
Newport, Co. Mayo recorded 34.6 mm of rain, the wettest day of the month. The rainfall contributed to one of the wettest Augusts on record in the area, with widespread rain across the north and northwest.
