1896: Dublin reports a daily high of 28.2 °C.

1922: Phoenix Park records one of its top ten coldest August nights of the 20th century at 2.2 °C.

1929: Temperatures reach the mid to high 20s as a plume of warm air drifts north from Iberia.

1936: The Irish Times reports heatwave conditions across Ireland.

1986: The cleanup begins after Hurricane Charley, which caused widespread flooding, particularly in Leinster. Kippure Mountain recorded Ireland’s heaviest single-day rainfall: up to 280 mm, including over 200 mm in 24 hours.
