A spell of very warm and mostly dry weather will persist over the next few days, though brief light rain or drizzle is likely today in the northwest and northern counties.
The weekend will see a shift to less settled conditions as a cooler air mass moves in, bringing scattered showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms, especially on Saturday.
It will turn warmer again into next week, but the risk of scattered showers at times remains.

A generally dry and warm day with hazy sunshine and light southwest breezes. Highs will widely reach 20 to 24°C, though it will be cooler (15 to 18°C) and cloudier in the north and northwest with some light drizzle.
Thursday:
Very warm with long spells of sunshine and a few isolated showers, mainly in the west. Highs of 20 to 26°C, coolest near eastern and southern coasts. Southeasterly winds light to moderate, fresher near southwestern coasts. Thursday will be warm and humid.
Friday:
Sunny and hot in most areas with only a few scattered showers possible. Highs of 19 to 27°C, warmest away from the coast, with light winds.
Saturday:
A mix of cloud and sunshine with scattered showers, some possibly heavy or thundery from the south. Warm again with highs of 18 to 25°C in light to moderate southerly or variable breezes.
Sunday:
It will turn noticeably cooler with variable cloud, passing showers, and the chance of isolated thunderstorms. Highs of 15 to 20°C in moderate westerly breezes.
Monday and Next Week:
Temperatures will recover from Monday. Next week will bring a mix sunny spells and occasional light rain or showers. Breezy at times, especially in the west and north with predominantly southwesterly winds. Highs of 16 to 22°C, warmest away from the western and southern Atlantic coast.
