Ireland is the toast of Europe

As thunderstorms spread throughout the Mid-West in Clare, Limerick, south Galway and North Kerry, temperatures rose close to 25c on Tuesday.
Ireland was warmer than most of Europe, including traditional hotspots like Spain, Italy and Greece.
Shannon Airport reached 24.6c at 4.00pm, marking the warmest day in Ireland since Athenry in Galway recorded a record April temperature of 25.9c on the final day of the month.

It will remain very warm everywhere until the middle of next week, after which temperatures will gradually dip into the mid-teens.
Apart from Tuesday’s scattered thunderstorms in the west, high pressure is keeping our weather fine and dry.
However, Atlantic systems will approach from the west later next week bringing a return to less settled conditions.
