Ideal conditions are forecast at Croke Park this weekend for the long-awaited return of Oasis.

The Manchester band will play two sold-out shows at the stadium tonight and tomorrow night, with dry weather, light winds and evening temperatures of around 20 degrees expected to provide a pleasant backdrop at the home of the GAA.

Demand for the group’s Irish dates was intense, with both concerts selling out within minutes when tickets went on sale last year.

Among the 80,000-strong crowd expected at Croke Park will be Liam and Noel Gallagher’s mother, Peggy, who hails from Charlestown, Co Mayo.

Oasis reunited in 2024, 15 years after their acrimonious split, and returned to the stage last month in Cardiff. Since early July they have performed 15 dates on their Live 25 tour in Manchester, London and Edinburgh, ahead of a wider run in Europe and the United States.
