Sunday a tale of two halves in Ireland

Most of Ireland enjoyed uninterrupted sunshine on Sunday, but overcast conditions persisted further west.
Satellite imagery of Ireland from midday showed cloud hugging the Atlantic coastline and largely clear skies across Ulster, east Munster, east Connacht and Leinster.
The Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite offered close-up views of Ulster, south Munster and south Leinster, and Dublin.
Sentinel-2 is a European Space Agency mission that utilises high-resolution, multi-spectral imaging. It was launched into space on 23 June 2015.

A lengthy spell of dry and settled weather stretching into mid-April is expected, driven by persistent high pressure to the northeast of Ireland.
With ‘Summer Time’ now underway, evenings are extended by an hour, days are growing warmer, and rising soil temperatures are boosting grass growth.
Sunshine will be abundant everywhere.
As mid-April nears, there’s a faint hint of winds swinging to a chillier northeast or northerly direction, but dry conditions should largely persist.
