Met Éireann has issued a series of marine warnings affecting all coasts of Ireland for Wednesday, into the early hours of Thursday.

A Small Craft Warning is in place from 12:00 Wednesday to 06:00 Thursday, with south to southwest winds reaching force 6 at times. Mariners are advised to exercise caution due to these potentially challenging conditions.

Additionally, a Yellow Gale Warning has been issued for the northern coastal waters from Loop Head to Erris Head and Malin Head. Southerly winds are expected to reach gale force 8 between 17:00 Wednesday and 01:00 Thursday, creating hazardous conditions for larger vessels.

On land, winds will be moderate, shifting from westerly to southwesterly during Wednesday and Thursday, bringing generally unsettled but less severe weather.

These warnings come shortly after Storm Floris impacted northern coastal areas on Monday with a relatively rare Status Orange Marine Warning. Malin Head in Donegal recorded a peak gust of 104 km/h, marking the strongest wind gust in Ireland since February.
