Small craft warnings for all Irish coasts

Met Éireann has issued a series of small craft warnings for Irish coastal waters, with southerly and southwesterly winds forecast to reach force 6 or higher at times from Sunday night through to Tuesday.
The first warning, covering the stretch from Mizen Head to Erris Head to Bloody Foreland, came into effect at 9pm on Sunday and remains in place until 1pm on Monday. Winds along this Atlantic corridor are expected to reach force 6 or stronger.
A nationwide warning will then follow from 1pm until 10pm on Monday, with Met Éireann cautioning that southerly winds will reach force 6 or higher on all Irish coasts. The alert, which was upgraded at 11.59am on Sunday, has been given yellow status.
A further warning, taking effect from 10pm on Monday, will apply from Hook Head to Loop Head to Malin Head. South to southwest winds will again reach force 6 at times, with the alert due to remain in place until 4pm on Tuesday.
The warnings form part of a broader shift to more unsettled weather conditions this week as low pressure dominates in the northeast Atlantic, bringing periods of rain and stronger winds after the recent spell of relatively settled conditions.
