
Met Éireann Issues Gale Warning for All Irish Coasts

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow gale warning for all coasts of Ireland on Saturday, as strong south to southwest winds are expected to reach gale force 8, with some gusts reaching strong gale force 9. The warning is valid from 11:00am on Saturday until midnight.
The national meteorological service has also issued a series of small craft warnings for the next 48 hours. Westerly winds reaching force 6 or higher are expected along the south and west coasts from Carnsore Point to Loop Head to Fair Head, valid until 6:00pm on Friday. Cyclonic winds reaching force 6 or higher will also affect all coasts on Saturday.
On land, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast to sweep across Ireland on Saturday morning, with the heaviest rainfall moving northeast through the afternoon. The forecast for Electric Picnic in Stradbally, Co, Laois, this weekend is mixed. Full details here.
