1975: The warm and dry summer conditions continue as Ireland enjoys temperatures in the low to mid-20s.

1976: The temperature reaches 27°C at Birr, County Offaly, and Mullingar, County Westmeath. The day marks the final day in the longest run of consecutive Hot Days on record in Ireland at Boora, Offaly (29 June – 3 July).

1986: Following intense thunderstorms, a landslide carrying hundreds of tonnes of mud and turf blocks a road between Ballinaglera and Ballinamore in County Leitrim.

2000: Thunderstorms spread across the Mid-West and Midlands, with Mullingar recording 20.1 mm of rainfall in two hours.

2018: Malin Head, Co Donegal, records the month’s highest daily sunshine total (16.4 hours).

2024: The month’s strongest gust (85 km/h) is recorded at Finner, Co Donegal.
