Early morning rain in east Leinster and scattered heavy showers elsewhere were captured by the satellite as it passed over Ireland shortly before midday on Monday.

A mix of April showers and sunny spells has replaced the warm and settled conditions of last week.

Showers will retreat to the west coast on Monday night, leaving a largely dry night with frost forming under clear skies. It will remain slightly cloudier in northeast Ulster and Leinster.

Showers will be well scattered on Tuesday, leaving a largely dry day with the best sunshine in the western half of Ireland, particularly along the north coast.

A widespread frost will form in many areas on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The below close-up view of Ireland from space on Monday shows scattered showers tracking northwest across Ireland.
