Sunshine for many and rain for some on Sunday

Cloud associated with light rain the northwest and showery activity nudging into the southeast was visible from space as the NASA Modis satellite passed over Ireland at midday on Sunday.
There was plenty of sunshine in between these two banks of cloud however.

Showery conditions will persist across Leinster and Ulster from Sunday evening into Monday morning, followed by isolated showers on Monday that will clear by evening.
On Tuesday, scattered—possibly thundery—showers may develop over Munster but will fade by afternoon. The rest of the week and the early days of the following week will stay dry.
Winds will remain light and easterly throughout the forecast period.
Confidence is growing among major weather models that high pressure will weaken by the middle of the following week, allowing Atlantic systems to move in from the west.
The outlook for the final 7–10 days of May is more unsettled, with spells of rain, strengthening winds, and occasional thundery outbreak
