Thunderstorm Warning Issued

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Thunderstorm Warning for Cork and Waterford, with further thundery downpours expected to develop overnight and through Thursday.
The warning is valid from 10:00pm Wednesday to 3:00am Thursday, and highlights the risk of heavy showers and localised thunderstorms, which could lead to spot flooding.
Although the warning currently applies to southern counties, thunderstorm activity is forecast to spread to other parts of the country overnight and continue into Thursday, bringing widespread unsettled conditions.
Showers will become increasingly heavy and persistent across Leinster and Ulster as the night progresses, with scattered thunderstorms likely and a continued risk of spot flooding in affected areas.
Conditions will remain muggy, with temperatures holding between 13 to 15 degrees in most areas.
Thursday Morning will begin wet and thundery in Leinster and Ulster, with further outbreaks of heavy rain and spot flooding possible. Elsewhere, heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will move northwards from the south throughout the day.
Showers will clear northeast by evening time.
