The past week has been duller, wetter and warmer than average across Ireland.

Frequent heavy rainfall has seen totals of between 1.3 and 3 times the average in most areas.  

in recorded the most with 55.2mm (249% of normal). However, northern areas fared better with closer to normal amounts.

Met Éireann says its most northern synoptic station registered 38.5 hours of sunshine, which is just 1% above its seasonal average.

Mean air temperatures generally have been above normal by between 1 and 2C, and a little closer to normal in the north.

Knock/Ireland West Airport in had a mean temperature of 9.7C, while in recorded a mean temperature of 11.6C.

The coming week will be largely dry, settled and warm as high pressure sits over Ireland.
