1948: Malin Head in Donegal records the record low mean air pressure reading (952.9 hPa) for May.

1950: Temperatures reach the low 20s as high pressure stalls northeast of Ireland.

1974: 38.1mm of rainfall is recorded in Cork.

1983: A 95 km/h gust is recorded at Valentia in Kerry.
