1995: Temperatures reach 28.6°C in Kilkenny as the long, hot summer continues.
2004: Warm weather spreads across Ireland, with temperatures widely rising into the mid-20s.
2007: Dry weather finally sets in after six weeks of wet conditions, which had forced some livestock indoors during July. Concerns are raised that poor growing conditions may lead to higher prices for vegetables and flour-based goods.
2018: Heavy thunderstorms affect parts of Ireland, especially the west and northwest, bringing intense rainfall, localised flooding, and lightning strikes. Counties including Galway and Mayo experience disruptions.
2019: Malin Head, Co. Donegal, records the highest daily sunshine total for July at 14.0 hours.
2022: Newport, Co. Mayo reports the month’s highest daily rainfall with 47.5 mm.
