1998: After a dull, wet year, Ireland enjoys sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid-20s.
2003: Claremorris hits 29.5 °C during a heatwave. Balderrig records 30.3 °C – Ireland’s highest August temperature for nearly 20 years.
2020: Malin Head logs the month’s highest sunshine total at 14.5 hours.
