1963: Heavy thunderstorms cause floods and traffic chaos in the Dublin suburbs of Kilmacud and Dundrum.

1976: The temperature reaches 26°C in Kilkenny.

1993: Flooding affects Ireland after the wettest start to June in 35 years.

2007: Clones in Monaghan records 25°C.

2023: ‘Absolute Drought’ conditions at 24 Met Éireann stations enter their last day as temperatures rise into the mid 20s. The dry spell of weather commenced on 15th May.

2024: The lowest grass temperature of the month (-1.4°C) is recorded at Mullingar, Westmeath.
