1982: Under high pressure conditions, an “absolute drought” is declared in Ireland that lasts until the end of the month.
1986: The maximum daytime temperature reached at Clones, County Cavan, is just 4°C.
2000: The temperature drops to -3.4°C at Kilkenny Castle.
2003: The air temperature at Casement in Dublin reaches 20.7°C.
2019: Cork Airport records its highest daily rainfall record for April (54.6 mm).
2022: The highest air temperature (18.5°C) of the month for Ireland is recorded at Phoenix Park, Co Dublin.
2023: 25.5 mm of rainfall is recorded at Newport, Co Mayo, its highest daily fall for April since 2013.
