Rainy spell ends as dry weather takes hold

Partially clear skies over Ireland were visible when the NASA Modis satellite passed over Ireland shortly before midday on Saturday.
The last of Friday’s frontal system could be seen clearing the northeast, while cloud brought spots of drizzle to the west and northwest.
Much of Ireland enjoyed sunshine during Saturday afternoon, however, which is in stark contrast to the persistent rain that has fallen over the past 48 hours.
Clearer conditions spread from The Atlantic overnight to provide the below EUMETSAT view of Ireland early on Saturday morning.

The weather will become cloudier, with some scattered light showers during Sunday. Some light drizzle may once again impact coastal parts of the west and northwest, but a clearing will follow later in the afternoon.
Monday through to mid-week will bring a gradual rise in temperatures, ranging from 16-19°C on Monday to 18 to 22°C on Thursday and Friday.
It will remain dry through to next weekend, when temperatures will dip back to the mid-teens as a cooler north to northeasterly breeze sets in.
